Kodi

The media player on its own network, through the VPN, controlled from the phone.

Needs The Firewall guide: the media network, its fixed address and its rules are set up there.

Status Coming later: the chapters are not written yet.

The media player is a small Intel N100 PC with 16 GB of RAM and a 2 TB NVMe drive, running LibreELEC: a minimal Linux that only runs Kodi. It sits alone on the media network, reaches the internet only through the VPN, and is controlled from the Kodi remote app on a phone on the trusted Wi-Fi.

The media player: a white, rounded box with a blue ring of light on the front
The media player, closed: the blue ring is the power light.
The media player taken apart: the empty white case on the left, the frame with the mainboard, memory and NVMe drive on the right
Taken apart: the board, with its memory and NVMe drive, slides out of the case.
